Texas Border Wall To Begin Construction

As early as this fall, the U.S. may begin building the border wall approved by the Republican congress last year -- even if eminent domain has to be used to seize some of the land it is to be built on.

Reuters has the story of Homeland Security Chief Michael Chertoff's plans to begin the construction project aimed at stemming the tide of illegal immigration.

Local officials said recently they had been told the Homeland Security department plans to have 153 miles of wall in place in Texas by the end of 2008.
