Taliban Moving Closer To Kabul

The Taliban stronghold areas in Afghanistan lies in provinces that border Pakistan; but, recently, they have begun making inroads into provinces further inland and closer to Kabul.
The Christian Science Monitor has the details of the increasing Taliban attacks and kidnappings closer to the Afghan capital.
Meanwhile, the U.S. continues to have the bulk of its forces in the region diverted to Iraq.
Is it possible that Bush's only real success, routing the Taliban government, may be taken away from him as well?
