Link Between Stress And Weight Found
Scientists may have discovered a link between how stressed people are and how much they weigh, and the link is not about poor food choices on the part of stressed people.
The Washington Post has the story of scientists efforts to discover the link:
They fed the same diet, an equivalent of a junk-food diet, to two groups of mice. They made one group chronically stressed while they administered medication to block stress signals in the other group. The group that experienced stress put on weight, while the stress-free group actually redistributed fat deposits in a way consistent with youthfulness.
It will be interesting to see where this research goes.
