Gore Calls G8 Climate Deal A Disgrace
While praising the effort made by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, former vice president Al Gore called the watered down "deal" for further climate talks a disgrace.
"The eight most powerful nations gathered and were unable to do anything except to say 'We had good conversations and we agreed that we will have more conversations, and we will even have conversations about the possibility of doing something in the future on a voluntary basis perhaps."
I raised a similar complaint when this deal was announced. We don't need more talking about what to do. We know what to do. Bush is just trying to leave the hard decisions about climate change to the next president while trying to look like he's doing something. Fiddling while Rome burns.
